VHA Georgia is excited to offer its new Lean Program. Decreasing reimbursement and increasing costs have forced hospitals across the nation to improve operational efficiency. VHA Georgia offers a solution to member hospitals to accomplish this difficult task by using Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Lean Six Sigma employs tools and concepts to reduce process waste and variation while increasing quality and patient outcomes.
In addition to leadership, there is a need for basic medical executive committee education and orientation. Intended for new MEC members, current officers and identified leaders along with the hospital CEO and other key executives, this Institute will provide an overview of the purpose of medical executive committees, the physician’s role in clinical quality, the importance of hospital-physician relationship, peer review, credentialing and more.
